
AMARILLO, TX – The Lockney Lady Horns were matched up against the Gruver Lady Hounds in the first round of the playoffs on Tuesday.
In game 1, the Lady Horns started the scoring first in the top of the first inning, taking a 2-0 lead.
The Lady Hounds quickly responded to take the 3-2 lead at the end of the first.
Lockney would score two runs in the top of the second to regain the lead 4-3.
The Lady Hounds then found momentum and would secure game 1, 15-5.
In game 2, Gruver retained their momentum, scoring ten runs in the top of the first to go up 10-0.
The Lady Horns tried to respond with one run in the first, and five in the second, but were still trailing 13-6.
In the top of the third inning, the Lady Hounds offense exploded for fifteen runs and took the 28-6 lead.
Gruver closed the game out in the bottom of the fifth to secure the round one victory 33-12.
The Lady Horns finish their season with a 12-17 overall record and 3-3 in district play.
