Floydada Fire Department Responds to Multiple Calls in April

FLOYDADA, TX – The Floydada Fire Department responded to several calls throughout April 2026, assisting with fires and emergency situations across Floyd County and surrounding areas.

According to the department’s monthly fire run summary, crews were first dispatched on April 1 to a location west of Floydada along U.S. Highway 70 after a reported fire. Upon arrival, no fire was found.

Later that same day, firefighters were called to the intersection of North FM 207 and FM 97 near County Road 129, where they assisted the Lockney Fire Department in responding to a grass fire.

In the early morning hours of April 4, crews responded to a house fire located approximately one mile north of FM 97 on FM 207. The fire was determined to have been caused by lightning.

On April 7, the department provided mutual aid at a grass fire in northeast Floyd County near FM 1065 and FM 689.

Another call came in on April 8 to the intersection of FM 1065 and FM 97 for a reported grass fire. However, firefighters determined the fire to be a controlled burn.

The Floydada Fire Department continues to work closely with neighboring departments to respond quickly and effectively to emergencies across the region.
