Floydada City Council Meeting Set for Tuesday Evening at City Hall

FLOYDADA, TX – The Floydada City Council will meet in regular session on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. in the council chambers at Floydada City Hall.

Council members are expected to discuss and take possible action on several financial, administrative, and community-related items during the meeting. One of the featured agenda items includes presentation and discussion of the City’s 2024-2025 budget audit findings by Fermin Ramirez of Atlas CPAs.

The council will also consider a letter of intent from CCMM CPAs & Advisors, PLLC, along with multiple appointments and financial resolutions. Sheriff Paul Raissez is scheduled to address the council regarding a memorandum of understanding between the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office and the Floyd County Judge.

Additional agenda items include HOT Funds requests from St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church and the Community Involvement Coalition, as well as the possible appointment of Jesse Finley to the Floydada Economic Development Corporation Board.

The council is also expected to canvass and declare the results of the May 2, 2026 General Election and Special Election. Newly elected members will receive certificates of election and take their oaths of office during the meeting.

Other business includes consideration of a resolution designating Interim City Manager Jesse Finley as the City’s Chief Financial Officer, changes to the ACH Origination Agreement with First Texas National Bank, and rescheduling the July council meeting.

The council will also convene into executive session to seek legal advice related to a payroll matter before returning to open session for any necessary action.

Additional routine items include the city manager’s report, approval of minutes from the April 21 meeting, and review of cash balances, investments, transfers, fixed expenses, and city bills before adjournment.
