FLOYD COUNTY -The 6th Annual Country Christmas Ball has been cancelled du to rising COVID-19 numbers within the county.
In a statement from the event’s organizers Monday evening, Wendell and Dustee Sollis, “There are several of the county’s firefighters and EMS in quarantine or infected with Covid-19. The county’s numbers are high, and hospitals are full. In an effort to curb any cross infection within the county, we are cancelling the Country Christmas Ball for now with the hopes of rescheduling in the spring or summer.”
The Christmas Ball benefits Floyd County’s EMS and Fire Departments. Last year, both Lockney and Floydada Fire Departments were presented with checks of $10,000 dollars.
