LOCKNEY — The first game of the 2021 basketball season in Floyd County is an an atypical affair, but it promises to be entertaining and fun for the whole family.

Dairyland Donkey Ball, touted by its website as “1-1/2 hours of wholesome, side-splitting, family fun tournament action,” is a basketball game in which all players are riding a donkey. The Lockney Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the event and says they have several “special” riders lined up for the show.

Tickets for the asinine sporting event, which will take place Monday evening at 6:30 in the Lockney Junior High gymnasium, are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Concession items and halftime donkey rides will also be offered.

To get presale tickets or sign up to ride, contact Karen Wilson at (806) 292-8519.
