FLOYDADA, TX – Over four months ago, First Texas National Bank (FTNB) opened the doors to its first branch location, 295 miles away in Sherman.
According to FTNB CEO T.K. Farris, the expansion is the culmination of much planning and strategic research in identifying an area that could benefit from “our style of community banking.”
In a time when more banks are becoming more prominent and less community-oriented, Farris explains that a community bank is one that “participates in Little League, social clubs and local events” that benefit the local areas they serve.
The irony in today’s banking world is that by expanding, a community bank will have the opportunity to offer more services to local customers.
Farris says the bank is staying the same and not being bought out. The only reason FTNB is growing is to make the bank better through scaling and to offer the benefits of banking with a large institution to those members of the local community.
One prime example of a new service available in Floyd County is the ability to offer residential mortgage loans.
Recently, William Bain was named Senior Vice President of FTNB and selected to manage the new Grayson County location.
