FLOYDADA — Voters in the Floydada Collegiate Independent School District elected Randy Moore to the Board of Trustees on Tuesday.

Moore defeated Jay Mendoza with 63 percent of the vote to fill the at-large seat (316 to 183).

“I want to thank everyone for coming out to vote,” Moore said. “I’m looking forward to serving on the board and helping make the right choices for FCISD.”

Longtime board member and past president Lyle Miller stepped down earlier this year after devoting 16 years to Floydada CISD.

Moore will now join Roger Hughes (President), Kay Brotherton (Vice President), Gracie Diaz (Secretary), Beverly Collins, Brianne Glasscock, and Eric Smith.
