FLOYD COUNTY, TX – Lockney and Floydada High School seniors took part in the It’s Your Money financial literacy program throughout the month of April, gaining valuable knowledge to help prepare them for life after graduation.

During the program, students explored how financial wellness connects to overall well-being while learning key skills such as budgeting, tracking expenses, investing in themselves, and understanding how to use financial services responsibly.

The month of lessons concluded with a Real World Simulation, giving students a hands-on opportunity to apply what they had learned in a realistic setting. The experience provided an eye-opening look at the financial decisions they will soon face as young adults.

The program was made possible through the support of generous sponsors Prosperity Bank, First Texas National Bank, Texas Plains Federal Credit Union, and Happy State Bank.

Additional thanks goes to the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office, Ryan Crowe, Earnest and Sheryl Back, Felisha Cavazos, Ashleigh Hillemeyer, and Haygen, Brinley, and Kristy Hankins Lefevre for helping guide students through the simulation activities.
