FLOYDADA, TX – The Floydada Whirlwinds hosted the Post Antelopes on Thursday night for their first district matchup of the season.
Floydada jumped out to an early 5–0 lead, but Post quickly found its rhythm and took control by the end of the first quarter, leading 18–8.
The Antelopes continued to build momentum in the second quarter, extending their advantage to as many as 14 points before heading into halftime with a 37–28 lead.
The Whirlwinds responded with a strong third quarter, battling back to briefly regain the lead in a back-and-forth contest. However, Post pulled away late in the fourth quarter to secure a 63–56 district win.
With the loss, Floydada moves to 6-16 overall and 2-4 in district play.
